American Bresse

The American Bresse is a remarkable breed known for its superior meat quality and excellent egg production. It's signature traits — fast growth, flavorful meat, and vibrant health. American Bresse chickens make great foragers. They are lovely with their bright red combs, pure white plumage, and striking blue legs, creating a patriotic red, white, and blue appearance that stands out in any flock. In addition, the hens are dependable layers of medium-sized tan-colored eggs. We find they are more consistent winter layers then the barnyard mix of traditional layers we have. We also appreciate their temperament.  They are very docile and friendly, not flighty,   Even the roosters are sweet tempered. They do take longer to grow out than your standard Cornish cross, but well worth the wait.  We are processing a yummy 4-6lb bird at 16 weeks.  We currently raise the whites, but are adding a blue variety this spring. 

We generally hatch from Feb until May.

  • Older birds are priced depending on age.

Bourbon Red Heritage Turkey

We just love this breed of turkey. The Bourbon Red Turkey is a Heritage breed of turkey developed in Bourbon county, Kentucky back in the 1800's. It excels in flavorful, moist meat, making it truly a great choice for the holidays and any other day!  The males are obviously larger than the females, netting about 16-18lbs at 8 months. Bourbon Reds are also good foragers and thrive equally in free-range and cooped environments. They typically have a calm temperament, making them easy to manage.

Our hens are usually laying in the spring, April thru June. 

We offer day-old straight run for $10.

Older poults priced depending on age.
